A candidate who relies on Moscow’s community to be her guide
MEET HAILEY
Hailey is a Gritman baby, Lena Whitmore Wolverine, Moscow Junior High School Cub, Moscow High Bear, U of I Vandal, and an SEL employee-owner. She grew up attending the Latah County Historical Society’s ice cream socials with her grandma Karen, rafting the Lower Salmon with her grandpa Craig, catching countless movies at the Kenworthy with friends, and listening to many nights of music at Rendezvous in the Park.
Hailey has been drawn to serving as an elected representative since her early days of campaigning to be a seventh and eighth-grade class rep at MJHS. Unknowingly, she gravitated toward public service by participating in American Legion’s Girls State event in high school, participating in higher education conversations at the Capitol with other UI Vandals, and into her career where she currently monitors and analyzes policy in the state of Idaho for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, with a special focus of identifying rulemaking and legislation that disrupt free market principles.
She is passionate about making sure Moscow is a welcoming community to all.
Since 2013, she has served on the Rendezvous in the Park board and previously served on the board of the Renaissance Fair. Hailey attends as many community events as she can, and loves wrapping presents for Christmas for Kids with her grandma Karen during the holiday season. Hailey rafts, skis, reads, or naps whenever the right conditions present themselves, and likes strolling downtown with her fiancé Garrett and their pup Ringo the Schnoodle.
